The city of Sharjah is the first city in the Eastern Mediterranean Region that has been registered in the Regional Healthy City Network website (RHCN). WHO team assisted Sharjah government and facilitated two days’ workshop that had been participated by representatives of different governmental and non-governmental sectors. A Plan of Action with clear objectives, responsibilities and expected outcomes was drafted during the workshop. It is expected that implementation of this PoA will be positively reflected on the health of Sharjah’s citizens during the coming 2 years. A letter of collaboration has been signed by the chairman of Rural office and WHO desk officer in a ceremony held on the second day of the workshop.
