The initiative was launched for the purpose of providing reassurance to members of the community, increasing the speed and efficiency at which the test is received, and to cover a larger area in Al Khobar.

Prior to the initiative, it was found that hospitals and clinics were congested, and members of the community were unable to book slots for testing to the high demand for those services. This initiative therefore sought to address those issues by introducing drive through testing facilities, which also served the added benefit of covering a wider area in Al Khobar.

The initiative aimed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and mitigate the economic, financial and health burdens brought on by the virus.

The initiative resulted in a comprehensive survey of most of the community members’ health statuses, and it also provided ease of access to check-up stations, after making an appointment through the health app.
